There was something irresistible about the bird’s eye view and the small, matchbox-like cars on the screen. In previous games, there were storyline missions, but just running around, stealing cars, and causing random mayhem on the streets seemed more fun. Part of the reason behind this was the somewhat punishing difficulty of the missions.But in GTA IV and V, things changed. GTA V is the most accessible GTA game ever because it gives the gamers enough time and hints to complete missions properly, and even if someone can’t complete a certain stage after multiple attempts, they can just skip it.

Skipping a mission only causes the gamer to lose achievement bonuses, but they have no impact on the overall story.The game has outstanding production value. Every drop of rain, a roadside sign, stone, characters, animals, vehicles, weapons—absolutely anything and everything visible within the massive open world of San Andreas is beautifully crafted.

GTA III introduced 3D graphics to this series, but the visuals in the latest game are simply ultra-realistic.The locations are so believable that just roaming around the whole map using a car, a bicycle, a motorbike or even a chopper seems a very, very rewarding experience. And there are just way too many vehicles to try out during the course of play.

There are even boats and yachts to buy and ride, and nothing really beats the mundane fun of stealing a high-speed fighter jet from a military base or stumbling across an armed chopper in a secluded and lightly guarded government establishment.Unlike any other GTA game, this one boasts not one, but three lead characters. At any point in time, the gamer has the liberty to assume the role of either Michael, Trevor, or Franklin.

With few exceptional situations, all of them are almost always available. These three characters are some of the most complex and deep characters created for a video game. Each of them has interesting backstories, and Trevor takes us really to such a place.

where we can no longer distinguish between a hero and a villain.Trevor must have done the most atrocious of acts imaginable, which includes, but is not limited to eating human flesh, stomping repeatedly on a biker’s head, and torturing someone just for the sake of it. But he also has high moral standards and shows a high level of loyalty towards his friends. He is not unfair to anyone, but he is also very stingy when it comes to giving out mercy.Taking control of the lives of these beautifully crafted characters is a good enough reward, but the bigger reward is to explore the open-world thoroughly. Often the game gives out rewards for exploring places where the missions won’t take the gamer.

Mission

The story missions can be completed fast, but it is better to do them slowly and continue exploring and doing random missions that are thrown at the gamer every now and then.In my opinion, one does not really need multiplayer for a game like GTA, but it is still there and is worth checking out every now and then.The harshest criticism against this game has got little to do with video games.

GTA games have always been outrageous, and no one takes them seriously. The whole series strives on mocking real-world people and events, and anything and everything happening on the screen should be taken with a grain of salt. So when a plethora of game reviewers, politicians, and other irrelevant, non-gamer people shout, bemoan and complain about the game’s rampant usage of “Misogyny”, I can only feel amused.

Yes, this game portrays women poorly. Yes, women in this game do not serve any purpose other than being the subject of lust, hatred, and ridicule. But a lot of other things are also portrayed unnaturally. You punch a guy once, and suddenly 4–5 police patrol cars come chasing you frantically. You kill one of them, and suddenly you find commando units swooping down on you from choppers.

Is all that realistic?

Instead of challenging a game for its moral grounds, people should focus more on the gameplay, graphics, and story. Anyone can make a sex game and market it, but none of those manga games or games based on sexual innuendo could sell even close to what GTA V did. So GTA does not really sell on sex, there is a beautiful and liberating experience built within the game that appeals to the gamer most.

Yes, it is liberating, because few other games give the player so many options at a given point in time. While other open-world games struggled with providing a basic, non-linear game; GTA did not even have to try hard to stay non-linear.Theoretically, a player could spend months playing the game without progressing in the main story, and still stumble across new situations. Such is the beauty and depth of this game which cannot easily be replicated.This game is a 10 out of 10, 100 out of 100, the perfect game to me. I owned it for Xbox 360, and then I bought a new PS4 to try the re-release. A must-play game for any game enthusiast.
