At its 47th annual general meeting (AGM), Reliance Jio unveiled its proprietary operating system, JioTV OS, together with JioTV+ for on-demand programming and JioHome for a connected experience.
JioTV OS
The Jio Set-Top Box’s own operating system, JioTV OS, will provide a quicker, more seamless, and more customized experience. According to the firm, the Jio TvOS offers state-of-the-art home entertainment technologies including Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision, and Ultra HD 4K video.
This will provide an all-in-one, user-friendly entertainment environment including applications, live TV, and programs.
Hello Jio
Modern Generative AI technologies are now used to power the Hello Jio speech assistant. This lets users use basic voice queries like “Hello Jio, find action movies” or “Open Netflix” to search for content across many applications. In order to provide a fully hands-free experience, the upgraded Hello Jio additionally accepts voice commands for managing the Jio STB, such as turning up the volume.
JioHome
Jio Home IoT solutions is fully integrated with Jio TvOS, make your home more intelligent and responsive to your needs. With the Matter-compliant solutions, Jio Home IoT ensures all the smart devices work seamlessly together and can be controlled from a single unified platform.
The JioHome app, which is the personal control centre now lets you manage all the smart devices with just a few taps. It also includes features like malware detection and guest Wi-Fi management, keeping the home network safe and secure.
JioTV+ gets Advanced interactive features
JioTV+ is an all-in-one entertainment platform that offers live TV from more than 860 channels, on-demand programming with Catch-up TV that allows you to rewatch episodes up to seven days in advance, and advanced interactive features for apps like Amazon Prime Video and Disney+ Hotstar.
You’ll be able to pause live TV and resume when you’re ready thanks to the new Play-Pause function. When viewing a live cricket event or the Olympics, JioTV+ also allows you to purchase tickets, check the stats, and change camera angles without ever leaving the app.
You can join live watch parties, discuss your favorite shows in real-time, and share what you’re viewing with friends thanks to the integrated social features.
