Instagram users and creators get ready to be paid for your reels.
After the TikTok ban in India, major social media players and developers scrambled to introduce their version of TikTok’s replacement to the Indian users. One of them is Instagram’s Reels, which took of due to its integration into Instagram without requiring to download an additional app needed to consume content. It became very popular due to its similarity to TikTok and wide user base. Content creators also rushed to create these 30second video content and connect with their users. Most of the Famous TikTok stars also migrated to Reels and continued their interaction with their fans without any delay.
Creator to generate revenue
There is a news report from iOS developer Alessandro Paluzzi, who discovered this new feature at some back-end codes. According to this, we can assume that Instagram is getting ready to deploy this new feature soon. It seems like it wants its creators and influencers base to spread the word about Reels so that it can help boost reels presence as more and more people get into this space. The screenshots shared by Alessandro show that Instagram creators can get monetary rewards called ‘Bonuses’ which help the creator to generate revenue. It also seems that they can track their target and progress to achieve the said bonus. It is still unknown if the normal users who also scroll through reels get this bonus.
Increase the available content for users to enjoy
As it is still in the development stage we can only know once Instagram gives an official statement. It is surprising to see Instagram take this leap as there are still some unprecedented developments are being taken place on the ban of social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp, etc in India by the government due to privacy concerns. This can be a good money-making opportunity for the creators and influencers as it can encourage more of them to switch to Reels and increase the available content for users to enjoy. Instagram reels also became a good place for some people to become creators due to the lockdown and this helps them to make it worthwhile for producing content.
USD 1 Million(7.25 Crores)
Monetizing content is not new as major players like Youtube is helping creators on shorts by monetizing them. Another example is Snapchat which rewards its popular creators for a day with those who have the most entertaining clips, USD 1 Million(7.25 Crores) and it was eventually replaced by its new feature Spectacles. Instagram creators only have access to monetary rewards only through paid content or product promotions by brands. This is a good step for Reels to compete With Youtube’s Shorts its Main Competiton in this space after Tiktok. Let’s hope that Instagram rolls out this feature this soon and help the content creators and influencers.

After I initially commented I clicked the -Notify me when new feedback are added- checkbox and now each time a comment is added I get four emails with the identical comment. Is there any approach you’ll be able to remove me from that service? Thanks!
