Apple held its annual fall event on September 12, 2023, and announced a slew of new products and features. The highlight of the event was the launch of the iPhone 15 series, which includes the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, and iPhone 15 Pro. The new iPhones feature a new design with a hole-punch display, a more powerful A16 Bionic chip, and improved cameras.
Apple also announced the Apple Watch Ultra 2, a new rugged version of its smartwatch. The Apple Watch Ultra 2 is made from titanium and has a new, more durable display. It also features a new sensor that can detect falls and other injuries.
In addition to the iPhone 15 and Apple Watch Ultra 2, Apple also announced a new version of its AirPods Pro, a new iPad mini, and a new software update for the Apple Watch.
Here is a more detailed look at all the new products and features announced at Apple Event 2023:
Apple Watch series 9
The most recent Apple Watch is outfitted with the most powerful S9 processor, which provides remarkable power. Apple has released a new Siri+health feature that enables users to interact with the voice assistant for reminders. Users may simply ask Siri, “Siri, what’s my heart rate?” and obtain immediate results. The Apple Watch Series 9 has a display brightness of up to 2000 nits, which is double that of the Series 8, making it easier to see in direct sunlight. It has an 18-hour battery life that lasts all day.
Furthermore, the tech behemoth has debuted a revolutionary double-tap Gesture feature that streamlines operations like as answering and finishing calls, managing music playing, scrolling through widgets, and more. This straightforward function requires no physical touch with the watch and can be enabled with only your thumb and index fingers. Furthermore, the watch is powered by the current WatchOS 10, which promises a slew of new features and functions for the Apple Watch.
Furthermore, Apple said that the watch would be available to consumers beginning next month, with improved speed and performance over the Apple Watch Series 8. The GPS-only edition of the Watch Series 9 costs $399, while the GPS+cellular variant costs $499.
Apple Watch Ultra 2
Apple has released the second generation Apple Watch Ultra, which has the latest S9 processor and WatchOS 10. This edition also has a cutting-edge 4-core Neural Engine that can handle machine learning tasks twice as fast as the original Apple Watch Ultra.
Notably, it is the biggest display ever seen on an Apple Watch and has a peak brightness of 3000 nits, which is a 50% boost over the first-generation Apple Watch Ultra. A new modular ultra watch face has also been released, expanding customisation possibilities. Furthermore, consumers may easily access and report their health data using Siri on their iPhone.
The Apple Premium Watch has a plethora of functions as well as complete health monitoring capabilities. It contains the unique double-tap gesture capability, similar to the Apple Watch Series 9. It has a considerable 36-hour battery life, which may be extended to up to 72 hours in Low Power Mode, and it supports Bluetooth connection. The Apple Watch Ultra has a starting MSRP of $799.
Apple iPhone 15
Apple has finally released the iPhone 15, which includes several notable changes. Dynamic Island technology, which substitutes the typical notch present on iPhone 14 Pro models, is one notable change to the basic iPhone 15 models. This invention provides people with a more natural method to engage with their iPhones.
Although the display size stays constant at 6.1 inches, Apple has dramatically increased the brightness to an astonishing 2000 nits, more than twice the capabilities of the previous version. The basic iPhone 15 also has an improved camera system, which has a 48MP main camera with a quad-pixel sensor and 100 percent Focus Pixels for fast focusing. It has a 24MP super-high-resolution default setting, which ensures detailed and clear photographs while keeping image size efficient.
In addition, iPhone 15 owners may use the 2x Telephoto lens to snap photographs at 0.5x, 1x, and 2x zoom levels. The smartphone has a new Smart HDR technology as well as a function that automates Portrait picture capturing without requiring manual mode change.
The iPhone 15 is powered by the A16 Bionic SoC, which has two high-performance cores with a 20% decrease in battery consumption, as well as a 6-core CPU for improved performance. Apple’s powerful 16-core Neural Engine can do approximately 17 trillion operations per second.
The introduction of USB Type-C technology this year marks a substantial break from Apple’s proprietary lightning connection. This move incorporates the internationally agreed pricing and data transmission standard. The iPhone 15 is also compatible with MagSafe and future Qi2 wireless charging technologies.
The iPhone 15 costs Rs. 79,900 in India and $799 in the United States, and comes in three storage capacities: 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. It comes in five enticing color options: pink, yellow, green, blue, and black. The iPhone 15 will be available for pre-order on Friday, September 15 at 5 a.m. PDT, with the actual sale beginning on September 22.
iPhone 15 Plus
The iPhone 15 Plus has the amazing Dynamic Island, which was first seen in the iPhone 14 Pro and provides an upgraded and dynamic user experience. Along with enhanced speed, the iPhone 15 Plus adds a bright color pallet to enhance your experience.
The iPhone 15 Plus keeps its 6.7-inch display size, but Apple has raised the maximum brightness to an astonishing 2000 nits.
In terms of camera specs, the back camera now has a 48-megapixel primary sensor. This sensor offers optical zoom settings of 1x and 2x, as well as the standard 0.5x ultra-wide lens. Apple has also enhanced the Portrait mode’s low-light capabilities.
Furthermore, the iPhone 15 Plus is powered by the A16 Bionic processor, which was previously seen in the iPhone 14 Pro models. This amazing system-on-a-chip has a six-core CPU and a five-core GPU, ensuring fast and efficient performance across a broad variety of activities.
The iPhone 15 Plus has the same battery life as its predecessor, the iPhone 14, but has a bigger internal battery, which provides more power endurance. The addition of a USB-C connection, which replaces the Lightning connector, improves both wired charging and communication while also making charging more easy.
iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max
The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models feature a titanium chassis that is not only lighter but also more durable, with a brushed effect that minimizes fingerprint smudges. Additionally, a USB-C port is now located at the bottom for enhanced connectivity.
Apple has maintained the 6.7-inch OLED screen from the previous Pro Max model and a 6.1-inch screen for the Pro version. Both Pro models come with Super Retina XDR displays that incorporate ProMotion technology. They support the always-on display feature and the recently introduced StandBy mode in iOS 17, delivering a dynamic and power-efficient visual experience.
The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are both powered by the A17 Pro chip, a powerhouse that Apple asserts offers unparalleled performance within the smartphone landscape, potentially reaching the levels of high-end PCs. With a redesigned GPU at its core, Apple envisions these devices as revolutionary, capable of taking the mobile gaming experience to unprecedented heights.
In terms of photography, the iPhone 15 Pro models incorporate a 48-megapixel camera, improving low-light performance and minimizing lens flare in photos. Users can seamlessly switch between focal lengths (24mm, 28mm, 35mm) and attain 5x optical zoom capabilities, extending up to 120mm. These models also offer support for 4K60 ProRes video recording and direct connectivity to external drives through the USB-C port.
